Our Story

Located on the Marriner family’s 54-acre working farm in Ellicott City, we are home to 14 acres of crops (typically corn, wheat, or soy), 2+ acres of hops, approximately 30 chickens,  and more than 20 free-range angus cattle.  Our garden produces tomatoes, herbs, squash and squash blossoms, zucchini, asparagus, blackberries, blueberries, and much more that are  used at our nearby restaurants (Victoria  Gastro Pub, Manor Hill Tavern, and Food Plenty)

Brewery operations began in June of 2015, making Manor Hill Brewing Howard County’s first farm brewery.  Our head brewer uses high quality seasonal ingredients to craft hand-made beers from original and unique recipes.   We believe strongly in supporting local and practicing sustainability and work to achieve these values as often as possible.

Join us in our Tap Room Friday and Saturdays for tastings and to go sales.  Once here, you’ll be able to take a walk around the brewery, meet and greet some of our staff and brewers, or just enjoy the farm scenery.

Our Hops

We have over 2 acres of hops planted on the farm and currently have the following varieties

THE quintessential American hop. Massive clean grapefruit quality. A signature hop in many American beers and has stood the test of time since the early 70’s.

A very versatile hop. Super clean bitterness with a nice herbal aroma with a little bit of floral and resinous notes mixed in.

One of the more aggressive, yet pleasant hops around. Very intense spiciness with some nice pine and resinous qualities. All around fantastic hop.

We have always heard these billed as “Super Cascades” and never really got it. They have a definite citrus overtone, but it leans more towards lemon than grapefruit to us. There is a nice, soft floral note to these with a little bit of spice and a clean, but substantial bitterness.
